Vangent's flexible Taxpayer Relief Act (TRA) Services provides post-secondary institutions with a reliable, cost-effective solution to the information reporting requirements imposed by the Taxpayer Relief Act (TRA) of 1997. Our proven management team will deliver end-to-end service excellence.

1. Standard Service
 
  • Dedicated customer service representatives to guide you through the TRA process, including file preparation and testing
  • Live test output for your approval prior to full file submission and mailing of 1098-Ts
  • Printing and mailing of 1098-Ts to students by January 31, including:
    • Full-page 1098-T with customized text, including a Tax Credit Fact Sheet
    • Notification that your 1098-Ts have been mailed
  • Electronic submission of data to IRS by February 28
  • Assistance in resolving error records
  • Archive file provided to school
  • Optional (additional charges apply):
    • Financial detail printed on the reverse side of 1098-T forms to inform students of their transactions and reduce inquiries to you
    • IRS archive media in CD, diskette, or tape format
2. Web Service
 

All Standard Service items above, plus:

  • Student data posted to our secure Web site, allowing:
    • Schools to add new 1098-T records via the Web
    • Students and schools to correct data and reprint 1098-Ts via the Web (as controlled by the school)
    • Optional link to your school's Web site
  • Important links to IRS documents and information about claiming Hope and Lifetime Learning Credits
  • The most efficient way to make corrections and provide full information to students and taxpayers
